The Experience
You should feel good about yourself at school.
You should be eager to arrive and reluctant to leave. You should feel engaged, challenged, supported and safe. These are our aims for the social and academic climate at this school.
We have created a small, supportive learning community in which every student matters, so school feels right. We make a concerted and consistent effort to seek student observations and recommendations concerning the social and academic climate, so that we can maintain an environment in which every student thrives.
Here are some of our students' observations about their school:
It's better in every way possible.
Ever since coming to this school, I feel like I've been taught to think critically.
The new and innovative teaching method gives new perspective on old concepts.
Wednesday
Project is an amazing thing that we do. I have heard of no other school
that takes an entire day out of the week and devotes it to solving
problems or exploring new ways of learning. It is truly unique and
innovative and I love it.
The students have a large say in what they do.
The
great thing about our school is how it allows someone to grow into who
they are, who they want to be, or continue to be who they already are.
The people are cool and the feel is sweet.
Freedom.
Lots of wonderful and unique athletic opportunities.
I look forward to going to school everyday because it is not only educational, but fun.
This is so much better.
As part of the Experience at Ideal Schools High School, we also aim to show students the larger world, and how what they are studying is relevant and meaningful outside of school too. We take you more places than any other high school, as part of our Field Studies program.
