In addition to the courses described in this section on the Academic Program, electives will also be offered based on student and parent interest and faculty expertise. If a sufficient number of students and parents are interested in a course, and it meets our standards for rigor and college preparation, we will make every effort to offer the course. In this way, the course offerings at our school will be very much like the course offerings at elite universities. So, if students want a course on how electronic information is created, stored, and transmitted, we will offer it. If there is interest in a course on the history of Ancient Egypt or India, we will offer it. The same would be true for a class on international monetary policies and trade agreements.

A governing principle at Ideal Schools is that we must create and respond to student interest in academic content, so we will be very flexible, particularly in grades 11 and 12, in offering electives.
