The humanities curriculum is an integrated program consisting of instruction in (1) English and Literary Analysis and (2) History and Social Sciences. Instruction in English and Literary Analysis is connected to instruction in History and other Social Sciences, so that the topics in one class are reinforced in the other.
The English program will consist of a Writing Workshop, Introduction to Literary Form, American Literature, International Literature, Advanced Literary Analysis, and Advanced Composition.
The Social Science program includes History and Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), which is an academic major at elite American and English universities (e.g., Yale and Oxford). Instruction in history cannot be separated from political science, philosophy and economics, so we will treat them together, with the following course work: United States Government, American History, World History, Philosophy, and Economics and Finance.
