Students who work hard and who can
succeed with advanced content will excel at Loudoun School for the Gifted.
Our Admissions Review is based upon a student's academic achievement, standardized test scores, a teacher's recommendation, and an interview with the student and his or her parents. We also consider student work and achievement outside of academics.
We
seek intellectually agile and curious students who are working above chronological grade level in math and reading and whose GPA at their
current or prior school is ≥ 3.5.
Our evaluation of a student's likelihood of success is based in part on numbers (GPA and test scores) and in part on their other strengths and goals, as these are revealed in their interests and the student interview.
To apply to for this or the following academic year, please:
(1) Download and complete the application for admission, and provide the additional information requested in the application (including standardized test results (SSAT, PSAT or SAT)).
(2) Send the transcript request form to your child's current school and the teacher recommendation form to a math, science, or humanities teacher.
Homeschooled Students: Homeschool students are encouraged to apply.
Student and parent interviews, standardized test results, and alternative documentation of student
achievement may substitute for the traditional school transcript requirements.
Application documents are available on this page as three separate Word documents.
