In speaking with parents who homeschool, and working with students who were homeschooled before high school, we have learned that our small high school may be the ideal choice for homeschooled students, for a number of reasons:

• Students who were homeschooled before entering our school tend to be more prepared, organized, and focused on academic tasks than students from traditional schools

• Our personalized approach is similar in some ways to successful homeschooling, in that we know where each student is academically and we seek student input on texts and courses that interest them, so we are able to adapt the academic program to students' strengths and interests

• Our small class sizes, and small school space, mitigate many of the concerns that may have led parents to homeschool, instead of sending their children to large, impersonal public or private schools

• Parents are important members of our learning community and are encouraged to visit school and share their insights and expertise, so the transition from homeschooling to high school is smooth and comfortable for students and parents
